For more than a decade, entrepreneur Zhang Xianjun has been constantly adapting. Born in the 1970s in Hunan, he not only possesses an indomitable “spirit of courage,” but his wisdom has also taught him the truth that “change leads to success,” propelling his business to new heights. Today, having dedicated over a decade to developing precision sheet metal processing solutions, he has gradually emerged as a leader in the industry.

In the golden autumn of 2003, Zhang Xianjun founded Suzhou Ruisu Electronics Co., Ltd. At first, he was full of ambition. “I had my sights set only on large companies; no matter how high the mountains or how long the journey, I would go after business even 1,500 kilometers away, yet I neglected the orders right on my doorstep.” Zhang Xianjun admits that while he took some detours in the early days of his business, he also gained a wealth of experience.

At the end of 2016, Zhang Xianjun took stock of the company’s finances. “Ruisu” generates over 100 million yuan in output value. He said that nowadays, he places particular emphasis on the “business circle” within a 300-kilometer radius. As early as the company’s founding, Zhang Xianjun equipped every sales representative with a sedan, ensuring that markets within 300 kilometers could be reached in just a few hours.

From the initial focus on price competition to today’s emphasis on quality and service, Zhang Xianjun’s business philosophy has continuously evolved. He believes that this constant evolution is, in fact, a natural manifestation of corporate innovation. Zhang Xianjun notes that even Apple iPhones are constantly evolving. With their powerful technological capabilities and numerous trend-setting features, iPhones have maintained their premium price point; Five-star hotels charge significantly more than ordinary hotels, so why are consumers willing to pay the price? The reason is simple: it is due to the ever-evolving, increasingly high-quality service. Ruisu Electronics started by purchasing CNC machine tools from other brands for processing, but has since developed its own R&D capabilities. The "Ruidiao" brand of precision CNC machine tools, which they have developed in-house and patented, are not only used internally but also sold to other industry peers. Their sales model is highly flexible: in addition to selling brand-new equipment, they also sell machines that have been in use for a few months, or even as second-hand units. Inside Ruisu Electronics’ workshop, the environment is bright and spotless. Few operators are stationed in front of the fully automated machinery; instead, they hold laptops connected to the engraving machines, closely monitoring the data changes displayed on their screens. It is reported that the most skilled workers in these workshops can manage over ten engraving machines single-handedly.

For entrepreneurs, there is no finish line! Standing at the starting line of a new journey in 2017, Zhang Xianjun candidly stated that this year’s focus is on innovation and replication. In 2008, Ruisu Electronics established its company in Dongguan, using the city as a hub to expand into surrounding areas—a strategy that has proven successful. This year, the key to success lies in meticulous planning, continuous innovation, leveraging technology to boost efficiency, and capturing the market through attentive service. The true path of life is one of trials and tribulations. On the entrepreneurial journey, business strategies may constantly evolve, but one must never forget the original aspirations held before setting out.
